Tailings Thickening and Dewatering Treatment Technology for Tanzania Gold Processing Project

 Green and environmentally friendly tailings treatment is an indispensable part of modern mining project construction, and it is also a key assessment index for the sustainable operation of overseas mining projects. The Tanzania 1200t/d gold mineral processing plant takes environmental protection production as an important construction goal. After the completion of gold separation and extraction, the project adopts professional tailings thickening and dewatering treatment technology to realize standardized stacking of tailings, effectively solving the environmental pollution problems caused by mine tailings discharge and meeting the local environmental protection emission standards in Tanzania.

In the whole gold processing flow of the project, after the cyanidation leaching, carbon adsorption and desorption electrolysis processes are completed, the remaining tailings pulp contains a large amount of water and fine-grained gangue particles. If the tailings pulp is directly discharged or stacked without treatment, it will not only cause waste of water resources, but also easily form tailings slurry leakage, soil erosion and other environmental problems, which will bring hidden dangers to the ecological environment of the mining area and restrict the long-term operation of the project.
To solve the above problems, Xinhai Mining designed a complete set of tailings thickening and dewatering treatment process for the Tanzania project. First, the tailings pulp is transported to the thickener for concentration and settlement. Through the gravity settlement effect of the thickener, the clear water in the upper layer is separated and can be recycled to the production process, realizing the reuse of production water and saving water resources for the mining area. The concentrated underflow ore pulp with high solid content enters the dewatering equipment for further dehydration treatment.
After professional dewatering treatment, the moisture content of tailings is controlled within the standard range, forming dry solid tailings that meet stacking requirements. The treated dry tailings are stacked in a standardized classified manner in the special tailings stacking area, which avoids slurry leakage and environmental pollution. The whole tailings treatment process is fully closed and automated, with high treatment efficiency and stable operation, realizing zero-discharge and green production of the processing plant.
