Crushing and Grinding Process Design of Tanzania 1200t/d Gold Mineral Processing Plant

 Crushing and grinding are the primary pre-processing links of gold mineral processing, and the rationality of the process design directly determines the dissociation degree of gold minerals, affects the efficiency of subsequent leaching and separation operations, and ultimately restricts the overall recovery rate of the entire processing plant. Aiming at the ore characteristics and 1200t/d production scale of the Tanzania gold project, Xinhai Mining designed a scientific and efficient combined crushing and grinding process, which perfectly matches the production demand of mixed sulfide and oxide gold ore, laying a solid foundation for high-efficiency gold extraction.

In the crushing stage, the project adopts a one-stage open-circuit crushing process. Considering the moderate hardness of local gold ore and the actual construction conditions of African mining sites, the open-circuit crushing process is selected to replace the complex closed-circuit crushing system. This process has the advantages of simple equipment configuration, low failure rate, convenient on-site operation and low later maintenance cost. It can efficiently crush bulk raw ore into uniform particle size materials that meet the feeding standard of grinding equipment, avoiding the problem of uneven particle size affecting grinding efficiency. For medium and small-scale gold processing plants with stable ore properties, single open-circuit crushing can completely meet the production requirements and effectively reduce project investment and operating energy consumption.
The grinding and classification stage adopts a classic single closed-circuit grinding and hydrocyclone classification combined process, which is the core guarantee for improving ore grinding fineness and monomer dissociation degree. After primary grinding by the ball mill, the ore pulp is sent to the hydrocyclone for precise classification. The qualified fine-grained ore pulp enters the subsequent cyanidation leaching process, while the unqualified coarse-grained ore particles are returned to the ball mill for re-grinding, forming an efficient closed-circuit circulation system.
This closed-circuit grinding mode thoroughly solves the problems of insufficient grinding and over-grinding existing in open-circuit grinding. It ensures that gold minerals in the ore are fully dissociated from gangue minerals, avoids the loss of fine-grained gold minerals caused by over-grinding, and improves the uniformity of ore pulp particle size, which creates excellent pulp conditions for the subsequent high-efficiency cyanidation leaching reaction. The hydrocyclone classification equipment features small floor space, high classification efficiency and strong adaptability, which is very suitable for the standardized construction and compact layout of overseas mining projects.
The optimized crushing and grinding process of the Tanzania project realizes low energy consumption and high-efficiency pre-processing of gold ore, and creates favorable conditions for the final high leaching rate.
