All-slime Cyanidation Process Applied in Tanzania 1200t/d Gold Processing Plant

Tanzania is a pivotal gold-producing country in East Africa, hosting abundant complex gold ore resources that feature mixed sulfide and oxide ore types, which poses great challenges to traditional gold extraction technologies. Local mining projects often struggle with low gold recovery rates and unstable production efficiency due to unreasonable process selection. To solve these industry pain points, the 1200t/d gold mineral processing plant project in Tanzania adopted the mature and efficient all-slime cyanidation gold extraction process independently optimized by Xinhai Mining, achieving remarkable beneficiation indicators and stable production benefits.

This project’s raw ore has two typical ore types: sulfide gold ore with a grade of 10.7g/t and oxide gold ore with a grade of 2.4g/t, and gold is the only valuable element that can be recovered. The two ores have distinct physical and chemical properties. Sulfide gold ore has a compact structure and tight symbiosis between gold minerals and gangue, making leaching relatively difficult, while oxide gold ore has a loose texture and is prone to argillization during processing, which easily blocks pulp permeability and affects leaching efficiency. Traditional single beneficiation processes cannot adapt to the mixed ore characteristics, resulting in serious gold resource loss.
Targeting the mixed ore characteristics of the Tanzania project, Xinhai Mining customized a exclusive all-slime cyanidation process scheme. Different from conventional cyanidation processes, the optimized process adjusts cyanide dosage, leaching temperature, pulp concentration and stirring duration according to the proportion of sulfide ore and oxide ore, realizing targeted leaching for different ore components. After continuous on-site commissioning and parameter optimization, the project finally achieved a leaching rate of 93.75% for sulfide gold ore and 91.58% for oxide gold ore, far exceeding the local average recovery level of similar gold mines.
The all-slime cyanidation process has become the mainstream gold extraction technology for medium and large-scale gold processing plants due to its high recovery rate, strong adaptability and stable operation. It realizes full-slime leaching of ground ore pulp, completely dissociates and enriches gold elements, and greatly improves the utilization rate of low and medium-grade gold ore. The successful application of the all-slime cyanidation process in the Tanzania 1200t/d gold project fully verifies the technical adaptability of the process for mixed sulfide-oxide gold ore. It provides a mature and reliable technical template for the development and utilization of similar complex gold ore resources in East Africa, and also proves that customized mineral processing technology is the core key to improving the economic benefits of overseas gold mining projects.
